At First Light
I am often dismayed to find that a new book I am reading is the first of or part of a series. That is TOTALLY not the case here! I loved this book so much that I can't wait for more!
It combined a little bit of the Dan Brown with National Treasure and made smart sexy and valued. What's not to love.
I like all of the characters - anyone who doesn't think the author had a picture of Peter Dinklage on her desk while she was writing is smoking something. I'm excited to spend more time with these characters.
I feel like the book stumbled a little in exposition of the characters/team - but understand the necessity of laying out an entire ensemble for up-coming cases while still keeping it as relevant as possible to the story at hand.
I thought the writing was solid and I read almost half the book in one sitting (delaying dinner by almost an hour!) Very exciting end.
This was the January selection for the Operations Book Club -
5 out of 5 stars.
